What does the Bible Say about Children?

What does God’s Word have to say about children? And how important is God’s Word about them? These scripture quotes will help you learn about Jesus’ views on children, what parents should teach them about God, and how children can be a blessing from God. 

God’s Word Says Children are Important

The Bible has a lot to say about children! In the Old Testament, we see that God values children highly and tells His people to care for them well. For example, in Exodus 20:12, God says, “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” This shows us that children are to be treated with respect and honor. Furthermore, in Psalm 127:3-5, we read, “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” Here, we see that children are a gift from God and should be treasured. The Bible also has a lot to say about how we should raise our children. For example, in Ephesians 6:4, we are instructed to “bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” This shows us that it is important to not only provide our children with material things, but also to train them up in the ways of the Lord. Ultimately, the Bible shows us that children are a blessing from God and should protected.

Scripture Says Children are a Blessing from God

Children are a gift from the Lord, and we are to cherish them always. The Bible has much to say about children, and how important they are in God’s eyes. Here are just a few of the many verses that speak to this:

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

“Don’t neglect your ownChildren guidelines for living—teach them before it is too late.” – Proverbs 19:18 MSG

“Let the little Children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” – Matthew 19:14 NIV

These verses remind us that we must always keep our children close to our hearts, and that we should never take them for granted. They are precious gifts from God, and we must nurture and care for them always.

Christian Parents are Commanded to Teaching Children

As Christian parents, we are called to teach our children about the Lord. This includes instructing them in His Word, sharing our testimony of His saving grace, and modeling a Christ-like lifestyle. It can be tempting to leave the spiritual formation of our children to the church or Christian school, but the truth is that it is our responsibility as parents to play the primary role in their discipleship. Deuteronomy 6:4-9 makes this clear: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” As Christian parents, let us take this command seriously and intentionally seek to teach our children about the Lord. It is our privilege and joy to play a part in their spiritual growth!

Scriptures about the Trinity

Trinity Sunday is coming next week, so I’ve been doing some Bible reference work on the Trinity.

There are numerous scripture quotes that point to the reality of the Trinity, or the three persons of the godhead. One of the most well-known is from Matthew 28:19, where Jesus tells his disciples to baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This verse clearly reveals that there is more than one person in the godhead, as each is mentioned separately. In John 14:26, Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit as another comforter who will be with his disciples after he returns to heaven. And in 2 Corinthians 13:14, Paul refers to the trinity as “the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit.” These verses make it clear that there are three distinct persons in the godhead, yet they are all one in purpose and nature. Each member of the trinity plays an important role in our salvation, and we are grateful for their love and support.

Other Bible verses that allude to the Trinity, and each one offers a unique perspective on this important concept. In the book of Genesis, we see the trinity at work as God creates the world. “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness'” (Genesis 1:26). Here, God is talking to himself, demonstrating that he exists as multiple persons within one being. The New Testament also gives us a glimpse of the trinity in action. In the book of Matthew, Jesus speaks to his Father about his upcoming crucifixion. “And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed” (John 17:5). Again, we see that Jesus and the Father are two distinct persons who are united in one purpose. Finally, in the book of Revelation, we see all three persons of the trinity working together. “Praise our God, all you his servants… for the Lord Almighty reigns” (Revelation 19:5). What does the Bible say about Baptism?

Do you remember your baptism? How did this spiritual event shape your relationship with Jesus Christ? Let’s talk a little about the power and significance of being joined with the church through Baptism.

Baptism is an important ordinance in scripture. It is a public profession of our faith in Christ and also symbolic of His death, burial, and resurrection. When we are baptized, we are identifying with His death so that we can also have new life in Him. It’s also an act of obedience to His commandment. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus tells His disciples to “go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19). And in Acts 2:38, Peter tells those who were wondering what they need to do to be saved, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Baptism is not just a religious custom or something that we do to make ourselves feel better. It is a scriptural ordinance that we are commanded to observe. And when we do so, it is an act of faith and obedience that brings glory to God. There are so many powerful Bible verses on the topic of baptism for Christians.

In the New Testament, Scripture is very clear that baptism is an essential part of the Christian faith. In Acts 22:16, we see that Paul is told to “rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.” This verse makes it clear that baptism is not just a symbolic act, but one that has the power to cleanses us from our sins. In addition, baptism is also a public declaration of our faith in Christ. When we are baptized, we are proclaiming to the world that we have turned from our old life and are now following Jesus. As a result, baptism is an essential step on the journey of faith. If you have not been baptized, I encourage you to take this important step today.

The bible is very clear when it comes to baptism. In order to be fully immersed in the faith, one must be baptized. This is a symbol of cleansing and rebirth. It is an outward sign of an inward change. When we are baptized, we are identifying ourselves with Christ and his death, burial, and resurrection. We are saying that we have died to our old life and have been raised to new life in Christ. This is a powerful act of faith that should not be taken lightly. If you have not been baptized, I encourage you to seek out a church that can help you take this important step in your faith journey.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20. This is a clear biblical commandment for all Christians – that we are to go forth and make disciples of all people, baptizing them in the name of the Trinity. Baptism is an important sacrament in Christianity, as it is a way of welcoming new members into the Church family and marking their commitment to following Christ. Immersion is considered the most traditional and scriptural form of baptism, as it more accurately reflects the biblical account of Jesus’ own baptism by John in the River Jordan. Consequently, many churches practice fullyimmersion baptism as a way of obediently following Christ’s commandment.

For many Christians, the moment of baptism is a powerful and significant event in their journey of faith. In baptism, we are joined with the church and with Christ himself. This act is a public profession of our faith, and it marks our entry into the community of believers. It is also a spiritual event that can have a profound impact on our relationship with God. In baptism, we receive the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. We are washed clean and made new in Christ. Baptism is an act of obedience that brings us into a deeper relationship with God. It is a sacred moment that reminds us of our need for Christ and our commitment to follow him.

Are you Looking Up for God’s Help?

In times of trouble, we so often forget the truth that God is our faithful Protector. We look around at the circumstances and problems that confront us and we can’t see how things could possibly work out. But the Psalmist reminds us in these verses that we need not fear, because our help comes from the Lord. He is the One who made heaven and earth, and He is the One who will watch over us and defend us. He will never slumber or sleep, but He is always on guard, ready to come to our aid. So when you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges, look to the Lord and put your trust in Him. He will never fail you or forsake you.

Looking for Help? Look to God First (not Last)

Sometimes we treat God like the last resort and only seek him when we’ve failed everything else in our own power.

When we are facing a difficult situation, it can be tempting to try to solve it on our own. After all, we don’t want to bother God with our problems. We think that we can handle it and that He has better things to do than help us with our petty troubles. However, the truth is that God wants to be involved in every aspect of our lives. He wants us to come to Him first when we are facing difficulties because He knows that He can help us in ways that we cannot even imagine. When we turn to God first, we are acknowledging His power and His sovereignty. We are admitting that we need His help and that we cannot do it on our own. By turning to God first, we are opening the door for Him to work in our lives in amazing ways.
